RURAL FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES – Capital funding for your business

Calling all farmers, foresters, growers and producers, small rural businesses, visitor economy providers, rural community organisations and local authorities in the Coast to Capital LEP area.

With deadlines fast approaching, this workshop is an opportunity to find out more about the capital funding that is currently available to help you grow your business.

Meet representatives of the Rural Payments Agency/Defra, the local LEADER delivery team, the Coast to Capital Growth Hub, and the Rural West Sussex Partnership and learn about the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Monday 19 February at Slinfold Village Hall, or Thursday 22 February 2018 at Dial Post Village Hall.

Find out if you are eligible and how much funding you could receive from one of the current rural funding opportunities; whether the RDPE Growth Programme, which currently has an Expression of Interest deadline of 31 May 2018 or local LEADER rural funding which is available for smaller grants across West Sussex and Surrey and a longer deadline. The funding teams will be able to advise what is best for your business and project requiring funding.

Afterwards, spend some time networking or meet the representatives for a 1-2-1 discussion about your particular capital funding needs and any questions you may have about the application process.

What funds can I apply for?

The RDPE Growth Programme is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and three capital-only streams are currently open for expressions of interest, Business Development (general capital projects), Rural Tourism Infrastructure, and Food & Drink Processing, with minimum grants ranging from £75,000 and £100,000, at a notional 40% grant rate for commercial applicants.

LEADER awards grants from £2,500 to £50,000 (some projects may be funded in excess of £50,000) – mainly for capital projects. A maximum of 40% of total costs is a typical award. However, different grant rates apply, depending on the applicant and the nature of the proposals.
