11th November 2018 commemorated 100 years since the end of World War One.
During World War One there was an airfield in just to the south of the Medmerry car park in Drove Lane. To commemorate this airfield the Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust has provided us with a commemorative plaque. The RSPB kindly agreed to allow us to install this plaque in the RSPB Medmerry car park in Drove Lane.
The plaque was unveiled on 11th November at 3.15pm following this short ceremony the church bell was rung as part of the national bell ringing event. We then walked to the church were refreshments were enjoyed by all.
The war memorial is currently illegible and therefore the parish council working party has been trying to carry out research as the names of those resident of the parish who passed away – Do you have any information?
