West Sussex County Council – Participatory Budgeting

Local residents in the South Chichester area are being reminded to take part in a funding pilot aimed at involving communities more in deciding how a local grant scheme is allocated.

South Chichester County Local Committee (CLC) is taking part in a participatory budging pilot scheme to help it decide how to allocate its remaining Community Initiative Fund for the 2014/15 financial year.

Committee Chairman Margaret Evans said: “We’d love for residents in the southern part of the Chichester District to take part in this pilot and tell us which organisation they think we should allocate our money to. There are voting terminals in local libraries and an online poll which can also be found via our Facebook page.”

Voting terminals are in place at Chichester and Selsey libraries until Saturday 21 February 2015. The online poll will be live until this date too.

Results of the poll will be taken into consideration when the Committee decides to whom they award the CIF grants at the last South Chichester CLC meeting for the financial year, which will be held on Tuesday 10 March from 7.00pm at County Hall, Chichester.’
