Harvest Mouse Survey

Sussex Mammal Group is currently undertaking a harvest mouse survey across the county to update our understanding of this species’ distribution and ensure that we can focus conservation efforts in the right places.

Harvest mice are our smallest UK rodent and are amazing architects – weaving themselves spherical nests from stripped grass. Their nests are characteristic, and it is these that we are asking people to look out for this autumn and winter.

There are records of harvest mice from your parish and we are hoping that you would be able to publicise our survey through any relevant networks you have.

You can find more information about the survey on our website http://www.sussexmammalgroup.org.uk/harvest-mouse-survey
